The American actress has won an Emmy, Golden Globe, SAG and NAACP Image Award for her performance as Dorothy Dandridge and an Academy Award for Best Actress, and was also nominated for a BAFTA in 2001 for her performance in Monster’s Ball, becoming the first and only African-American woman to win an Academy Award for Best Actress.
She placed second in the Miss USA pageant and placed 6th in the Miss World pageant in 1986. Her role in the movie that brought her to prominence was in Jungle Fever in 1991. This led her to roles in The Flintstones, Bulworth, X-Men as well as the role of Bond’s girl Jinx in Die Another Day.
Halle Berry founded the production company 606 Films in 2014 and has been involved in the production of many of the projects she has appeared in, including the CBS sci-fi series Extant (2014-2015). She appeared in the action films Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017) and John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019) and made her directorial debut with the Netflix drama Bruised (2020).
