Dimitri Vegas is a Greek-Belgian DJ, producer and composer. He is best known for his work in the electronic dance music (EDM) genre. Dimitri was born in La Louvière, Belgium in 1982. He grew up listening to rock, punk and hip hop music, but it wasn’t until he heard the first sounds of EDM that he decided to pursue a career in the music industry.
His career began in 2009 when he released his first track “Under The Water” on the British label Ministry of Sound. Since then, he has collaborated with some of the biggest names in EDM such as Tiesto, Martin Garrix, Steve Aoki and Diplo. In addition to his solo work, Dimitris is also one half of the duo ‘Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’ with his brother Mike Thivaios. The duo achieved international success with their music, which has appeared on dance charts around the world.
Dimitri’s success has been recognized by the music industry with numerous awards, including two IDMA Awards for Best European DJ in 2011 and Best Commercial/Pop Dance Track in 2012. Additionally, he was named “Best Big Room House Artist” at the Electronic Music Awards & Foundation in 2019.
